There is no argument that we have more toxins in our environment than ever before...
Researchers suspect that these toxins have links to a number of cancers, including breast,
testicular, and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, not to mention reproductive disorders and learning disabilities.
Although the American Chemistry Council assures us that they make products that “help keep
you safe and healthy”, U.S. consumers are actually exposed to a vast array of harmful chemicals
and additives embedded in toys, cosmetics, plastic water bottles and countless other products.
In fact, most people would be surprised to learn that the cosmetics industry in the United States
is largely unregulated.
The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics lists numerous toxins that appear regularly in cosmetics and personal-care products, among them lead and phthalates. Phthalates are linked to birth defects, including disruption of genital development in boys, decreased sperm counts and infertility. Lead appears in lipstick and hundreds of other products. The CSC reports that “lead … is a proven neurotoxin—linked to learning, language and behavioral problems … miscarriage, reduced fertility in men and women, hormonal changes, menstrual irregularities and delays in puberty onset in girls.” This is the material women and girls are putting on their lips all day, licking it off, and reapplying.

There are , colored polish spread on your nails, tuna eaten from a tin can, , and non-stick cookware that contains a perfluorinated chemical that causes cancer in rats. Your microwave, your food covered in plastic wrap or in plastic bowls, your water bottles are transported to grocery stores in trucks that get very hot or very cold causing the toxins to leak into the water.
